Ardeer Thistle 0 Lugar Boswell Thistle 3

Ardeer put in a decent performance at home to a Lugar side that moved to the top of the league table after their 3-0 win.

The first 15 minutes were action-packed with the Lugar forwards having 5 good chances to score, but were unable to find a way past Davie Richardson who made a number of fine saves. Ardeer had two chances of their own in the same period. Diminutive debutant striker Lee Munro dispossessed a Lugar defender at the edge of the box, but shot wide when one-on-one with the goalkeeper and Scott Reids effort also went wide. Both teams were settling into their rhythm but Lugar increasingly began to look the more likely goalscorers and got the opener on the 40 minute mark. Andy Rae passed the ball from the right wing to the feet of Tam McClelland in the box, who switched the ball neatly to his right foot and hit a good finish into the corner of the net.

The Jaggy Bunnets were the better team in the second half and scored their second just after the hour. Davie Richardson came off his line to try and collect the ball from a Lugar corner, but only knocked the ball into the path of Craig Muir who finished from close range. The away team wrapped up the victory with an impressive Michael Rutherford effort that gave the Ardeer keeper no chance.
